Private Krankenversicherung is the term used for private health insurance in local language in Germany. In Germany there are two types life insurance, they are Private Krankenversicherung and gesetzliche Krankenversicherung which are in English, private health insurance and statutory health insurance. The statutory health insurance is the government aided insurance for the people of Germany which is much cheaper than private health insurance but considerably has lesser features. They don’t cover for certain medical services. Hence people have to pay for it from their pocket for those services. Private health insurance is a life insurance provided by private profiting insurance company. They cover up almost all service and benefits. They cover up the cost spending from accidents, illness, diagnosis and even preventive. They have three types of insurance namely full insurance, partial insurance and insurance.

Full insurance covers all medical expenses in this world, partial insurance covers a certain list of medical expenses; this type of insurance are most commonly adapted for employees whose employer aid for their insurance. Finally additional insurance which covers extra medical expenses such as public health insurance, hospital bill, sickness benefits etc. The cost of these insurance may vary from person to person based upon their gender, age, health and income. Based on gender, women are charged more due to their higher like span and various expensive risk factors. Age of the people can be a crucial role in this area. Older people rates are higher than the younger people. In some cases people applying for insurance can be government servants and those workers have a special discount and government pay about 50% to 80% depending upon the family situation. These companies also consider the current family situation before fixing up the rates of the insurance. Suppose your income is very low and your properties are under Baufinanzierung(mortgages) then SHI will take over the insurance. After Altersvorsorge(retirement) you need not pay for the insurance. So while choosing for insurance doesn’t go for price comparison between two companies as they may not cover certain services. Select the company which covers a wide range of medical expenses than cheaper rates.
